Nowadays there are many students who cannot get a job after graduating from university. What are the causes? What solutions to solve this problem?
In recent years, there has been a growing number of graduate unemployment. This is attributable to several causes, and can be addressed by some solutions.
To begin with, there are a number of reasons that lead to the situation in which many students cannot get jobs after finishing educational programs from universities. One of those reasons is that students often have to learn many unnecessary subjects that do not provide any benefits for their future career. For instance, by learning History, learners might have to memorise events in the past although they cannot put this sort of knowledge gained into earning money later, which leads to a waste of students’ time. Additionally, while a significantly increasing number of students nowadays are choosing economics and business to study, the number of job vacancies in these areas is limited. Therefore, many university gratuates would be out of work, which increases burden on society.
However, there are a wide rage of solutions to alleviate this issue. First, since companies these days tend to place more emphasis on workers who have solid practical skills, educational institutions should teach practical courses such as cooking or mechanics that help students prepare better for their future career. This would a variety of positive impacts on society as there would be fewer employed workers, which also means fewer crime cases. Second, by increasing student exposure to jobs that are in demand, it would provide students with a better understanding of industry needs. This would be done by encouraging students to explore several careers before and during universities through interships, or classroom-based community projects, which allows them to land jobs that suit their interests.
In conclusion, there are some reasons why many students are unemployed workers after graduating from universities, and solutions should be produced to minimize the issue.
