2.The table below shows the percentage of main types of dwelling in
Victoria, the Northern Territory and Tasmania.

The given table illustrates the proportion of four kinds of housing in
Victoria, the Northern Territory and Tasmania from 2001 and 2006. Overall,
there was a small change in the resident’s preferences in choosing living
places in two years 2001 and 2006.

It is noticeable that house was the most popular option of many people in
researched three regions. Specifically, standing at 88% in 2001, the rate
of citizens owning house in Tasmania constantly increased to 89% in 2006
while these figures for Victoria and the Northern Territory decreased from
79% to 76% and from 65 to 65%, respectively.

There was a slight growth in the number of people choosing semi-attached
house in all of these areas during period recorded, by 1% to 2%. Besides,
while flat or apartment in Victoria and the Northern Territory was becoming
more attractive, with the proportion individually increasing from 9% to 10%
and from 8% to 11%, respectively, the number of Tasmania dropped by 1%
during the same time.

By contrast, the percentage of other dwelling in Victoria and the Northern
Territory was lowest, fluctuated from 1% to 2% thorough the period
recorded.
