27. Developments in technology have brought various environmental problems.
Some believe that people need to live simpler lives to solve environmental
problems. Others, however, believe technology is the way to solve these
problems. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Technological progresses make a variety of serious impacts on environment.
While many people think that citizens should live a simpler live to
alleviate some ecological issues, others believe that technology should be
taken into consideration. In this essay, I am going to discuss these views
in a broad perspective.

It is understandable why many people acclaim that the developments in
technology have become the main reason leading to the environmental
degradation. In fact, a lot of countries and many organizations utilize
many modern technologies to produce a number of toxic chemical, dangerous
weapons and provoke their enemies. Therefore, these situations took an
alarm turn with the outbreak of air, land and water pollutions, living
standard decreases and many international wars around the world. For
example, some modern factories in Vietnam have released a great deal of
toxic chemicals into the beach leading to the mass death of fish shown in
rivers and risking the living standard of a lot of Vietnamese.

On the other hand, nobody can deny that the development in technology is a
useful measure to protect their environment. Many governments and
scientists have exploited many meaningful technological inventions to apply
to all aspects such as transportation, infrastructure and economical
promotion. In reality, the combination between high technology and economy,
education, transportation and infrastructure make an indirect contribution
to improve ecological quality and shrink the polluted effects. Taking solar
pane as a typical example, many scientists utilized high technologies to
create a variety of solar pane which exploit sun energy to release electric
providing users.

In conclusion, technological progresses have brought some advantageous and
disadvantageous impacts on environment.
