Task 2: Some people say that economic growth is the only way to end hunger and poverty, while others say that economic growth is damaging the environment so it must be stopped. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Some people think that the development of economy is the only way to stop hunger and poverty, while others believe that the damages to environmental are serious and must be prevented. In my opinion, I completely agree with the second view in terms of maintaining sustainable economic development that avoid harmful to the environment.

It is true that the economic growth is supporting people to get the basic necessities of life. Firstly, the development of economy required a large number of human resource, which generates more jobs for people. Therefore, they will have opportunities to get a better income. Secondly, by growing an economy, the profit from revenue of individual and organisations is increased, which contributes to taxes. That means the government can support poor people by allocated tax sources preventing hunger and poverty.

However, the environment has been damaged by polluting waste from industrial. The fact that the disadvantage of economic growth is industrial emissions causing pollution, which is a serious problem damaging the environment. In addition, productions waste from the development of economy such as technologies, nylon are polluting to the environment because of an overwhelming quantity. These kinds of productions could not biodegrade, which create so many environmental issues.

In conclusion, I believe that there are lots of impacts from economic growth, but at the same time, the government and people should take action in order to find sustainable solutions for developing economy and preserving the environment.
