Everyone should become vegetarian because they do not need to eat meat to have a healthy diet. Do you agree or disagree ?
Many people believe that they will stop eating meat since becoming vegetarians brings more benefits for their own health. While I accept that this may suit several individuals, I believe that everyone should not give up the habit of eating products from animals.
One the one hand, there are a number of reasons why every individual should choose to be a vegetarian. Firstly, getting nutrients from animals through slaughter is considered as an unethical choice. For example, instead of eating vegetables, many people select to eat meat from dog or cat, the faithful companion of human, although they really love these pets. Secondly, a vegetarian diet could lessen the risk of developing several chronic diseases such as diabetes or obesity. This is due to the fact that a healthy vegetarian dietary plan provides us with a great source of vitamins and high in fibre but low in fat.
On the other hand, everyone ought to take into account the obstacles when becoming a vegetarian. Primarily, the selection will not guarantee a well-balanced diet for employees requiring much energy. For blue-collar workers, for instance, daily meals consisting of solely plant foods scarcely meet nutrient needs owing to a deficiency in essential substance like protein; as a result, the reduction in the productivity of their work is inevitable. Furthermore, people could spend beyond their means to get sufficient nutrition if they merely eat vegetarian diets. In fact, compared to meat’s price, that of much vegetables is prohibitively expensive; therefore, people need to choose the combination of plant foods and meat to manage their budget effectively.
In conclusion, although I recognise that having a vegetarian diet is a good choice for many people, I would argue that every individual ought to consider thoroughly before determining to become a vegetarian.
