Chữa bài IELTS Task 2
As well as making money, businesses also have social responsibilities. Do you agree or disagree?
People have different views about what kinds of obligation a company should have. While I accept that the top priority of companies is to generate profits, I agree that they should also have social responsibilities.
On the one hand, I believe that companies already contribute to society by simply focusing on making profits. First, since some businesses, such as Apple and Microsoft, earn much profits, they are able to expand their businesses, which creates more job opportunities for people. This would have a variety of positive impacts on society as there would be fewer unemployed workers, which also means few crime cases. Second, when companies make higher profits, they will have to pay more taxes for the government. Therefore, the government might have more money to invest in important fields such as education or health care, which will benefit society as a whole.
On the other hand, I would argue that apart from making profits, companies also need to have social responsibilities. Primarily, as a significantly increasing number of factories have led to serious environmental damage, these companies need to take immediate steps to help protect the natural environment. For example, if companies are responsible towards the environment, people can enjoy new produts withour any concern for the environment. In addtion, since several regions in which some multinational coorporations operate do not have access to resources to deal with problems such as homeless or disable citizens, these businesses should be more active in chariable activities. This would contribute to better society and also give these companies an opportunity to save more lives overseas.
In conclusion, although companies should prioritise the need to make profits, I believe that they should also shoulder social responsibilities.Attachments:
