Sending criminals to prison is not the best method of dealing with them. Educationand job training are better ways to help them. Do you agree or disagree?
Some people claim that providing criminals with education and job training is much more beneficial than putting them into prison. While it is true that education and vocational training are good methods, I would argue that sending offenders to jails is the best way to punish them.
To begin with, the are some benefits of giving education and job training to criminals. First, since education can change offenders’ thought on life and the society, they have a chance to recognize and reflect on their guilty. In fact, as education can help to provide knowledge about laws for offenders, they will be able to distinguish between legal and illegal activities, which allows them to avoid the same mistakes in the future. Second, by paving the way for proper jobs for criminals, vocational training might help offenders to earn a living and do not commit offences to get money. As a result, job training help cut down unemployment and poverty that are the principal causes of rising crime rates.
However, I believe that the most effective way is to send all criminals to prison. Firstly, by punishing for what they have done, imprisonment plays a vitally important role, which deters more people from committing offences. If offenders are not put in jails, other people are not afraid of imprisonment and they will reamin participating in unlawful actions. In addition, since criminals were sent to behind bars, they kept away from the community, which ensures the safety of other citizens. In fact, if the criminals who are accused of murder live amongst our society, other people’s lives might be in danger.
In conclusion, while it is true that criminals should be prevented from education and job training, I believe that giving prison to offenders is the best method to deal with them.
