Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of playing sports and participating in physical exercises.
As part of a healthy lifestyle, people of all ages should take up sport or exercise on a regular basis. In my opinion, the merits outweigh the drawbacks.
There are both mentally and physically considerable benefits to engaging in sport games. Firstly, being athletic can avoid obesity which represents as a major public health concern. Fat is burnt and excessive calories are shed through rigorous physical activity involved in sports. In fact, people who regularly play sports are naturally leaner and fitter. Secondly, sport is an efficient stress reliever by drawing your concentration toward your activity and away from other responsibilities. To be more specific, when participating in a sport game, you focus on your body’s movements instead of other depression and anxiety. According to HuffPost, people who regularly participate in exercise can lower levels of stress more than non-athletic one.
On the other hand, there are potential drawbacks to taking part in physical exercises. The main problem is that you will get a high probability of injury during playing sports if you start exercise without proper preparation. Without the prior session before playing sports, muscle is not activated enough and easily broken down when lifting heavy weights. Moreover, an investment in a gymnastic course and sport facilities is frequently unaffordable to middle-class. In developing countries, participating in sports is costly and considered as an upper-class activity while most people have to make ends meet day by day.
In conclusion, the merits of taking up sports or physical exercises outweigh the drawbacks as they exert positive influences on the mental and physical health of the player. Thus, everyone should always pay attention to all the risks to reap the benefits of such activities.
