Chữa bài IELTS Task 2
Advertisements are becoming more and more common in everyday life. Is it a positive or negative development?
In recent decades, there has been a growing number of advertisements that can be seen anywhere, on streets or in the media. This trend can be negative to some extent, I would argue that it is much more positive.
On the one hand, there are several disadvantages of advertising. First, since companies want to attract more customers, advertising usually tends to exaggerate the benefits of products. As a result, customers are easily swayed to buy impulsively goods that cannot maximize their satisfaction, which makes people to lose faith in the advertising industry. Second. As advertising appeals people of all ages, children are easily influenced by advertisements and they would put pressure on parents to buy them things. Therefore, these kids are more likely to develop the habit of pestering their parents for things, which negatively affects their cognitive development.
On the other hand, I believe that its advantages are even more considerable. Primarily, in order to help customers know more about different brands and products, advertising provides customers with detailed information such as prices or functions. This means that people can make wider purchasing decisions select the most suitable products, which improves tha quality of their life. In addtion, because companies need to hire people to create advertisements, the advertising industry may provide more job opportunities. This would have a variety of positive impacts on society as there would be fewer unemployed workers, which also means fewer crime cases.
In conclusion, while advertisements have a number of negative effects, I believe that the benefits of this trend are greater.Attachments:
