Topic: In the developed world, average life expectancy is increasing. What problems will this cause for individuals and society? Suggest some measures that could be taken to reduce the impact of ageing populations.
Essay:
Paralleling with the global development, people now tend to have a longer life than before. Although longevity reflects the advance in all aspects of a nation, it is believed that old population situation has caused numerous personal and social problems. This essay is going to discuss about the effects and solutions of ageing population.
To begin with, high proportion of old people creates a burden for government budget due to the rise in pension paid for retired people. Also, there will be a high demand for healthcare programs and social welfare which is directly arisen by the increase of old residents. So where can the government find money for these costs? Taxes need to increase as a result. Then, the invisible burden of such demands will be distributed to the young residents. Last but not least, the higher the proportion of old residents in population scale is, the lower young people’s percentage becomes. There will be a serious imbalance in population structure; also, number of residents in labour age will no longer meet the economic developing requirements.
To deal with the impacts of ageing population, each nation can consider some of the below measures. Firstly, retiring age can be heightened. For example, particularly in Vietnam, instead of retiring at 60 years old for men, male workers can retire at 65 years old. This measure can be possible and proper because together with longer life expectancy, people tend to be healthier thanks to the medical improvement. In addition, young people should be encouraged strongly to have more kids. More young residents in population scale can help to recover the balance in population structure.
In a nutshell, old population has caused many impacts on the communities in general and on residents in particular. Therefore, it is necessary for governments to give proper solutions for this matter.Feedback của bạn. Keep up the hard work!
Cho mình hỏi, trong bài của mình có đưa ra 1 câu hỏi “So where can the government find money for these costs? Taxes will increase as a result” và được note là “avoid using question like that”. Có nghĩa là trong bài essay không được tự hỏi và tự trả lời ạ? Nếu đưa ra câu hỏi như thế có bị trừ điểm không? Và nếu sửa lại thì nên sửa như thế nào bạn? Có dạng câu hỏi nào được chấp nhận trong bài essay không ạ? Mong nhận được hồi đáp. Cảm ơn bạn!

Cảm ơn câu hỏi của bạn. Về vấn đề này thì mình được học là các bài luận (bình thường, không phải IELTS) trong American English thỉnh thoảng có đặt câu hỏi như thế này trong bài viết, còn trong British English thì sẽ tránh làm như vậy.
Nói vậy cũng không có nghĩa là bạn viết theo AE thì nên đặt câu hỏi trong bài IELTS.
Thứ nhất, bạn đang viết cho giám khảo, và họ không thể có mặt ở đó mà trả lời cho bạn được. Chưa kể câu hỏi begin with “So” như vậy nghe rất là spoken language, không hợp trong văn viết.
Thứ hai, nếu ý bạn dùng câu hỏi để định hướng bài viết của mình sẽ trả lời câu hỏi đó, thì mình gợi ý bạn có thể làm vậy ở phần nháp. Việc bạn ghi một câu vào trong bài như vậy theo mình là không hiệu quả, và làm bài bị dài ra không cần thiết.
Bạn có thể thấy nếu bạn bỏ câu hỏi đó và chuyển transition khéo léo hơn thì bạn không cần câu hỏi làm gì.
Mình không dám khẳng định 100% về việc có bị trừ điểm hay không, hay dạng câu hỏi nào được chấp nhận. Theo mình tốt nhất bạn nên chuyển câu hỏi đó thành một câu bình thường thì mọi việc sẽ đơn giản hơn nhiều.
