The bar chart compares the minimum and maximum amount of SO2 and N2O emitted on a daily basis in 4 big cities in 2000.
Overall, it is clear that whilst Mexico was the most contaminated city by the two mentioned air, Los Angeles overall was less affected by SO2 than others.
Although the maximum and minimum levels of SO2 in Los Angeles stood at under 10 microgram per m[3], its minimum amount of N2O was much higher at 30 microgram per m[3] followed by 104 microgram per m[3] of its highest figure. Meanwhile Mexico city’s highest levels of N2O and SO2 both remained around 200 microgram per m[3], at 200 and 207 respectively.
Calcutta was less polluted by SO2 than Beijing with the highest amount emitted was 59 microgram per m[3] compared to Beijing whose SO2 emissions reached its point of 130 microgram per m[3]. In terms of N2O emissions, Calcutta released at least 30 microgram per m[3] which was twice as much as Beijing.
