Art is considered an essential part of all cultures throughout the world. However, these days fewer and fewer people appreciate art and turn their focus to science, technology and business. Why do you think that is? What could be done to encourage more people to take interest in the arts?
Despite being a crucial component in the culture of any countries, art is treated to be not as important as other fields of science, technology and economics. This issue is caused by some reasons and measures should be taken to tackle it..
In the context of Modern society, two main reasons can be pointed out. Firstly, although being interesting to most of people, a career in arts such as musician or painter seems to be ambiguous with unstable financial position. That’s why individuals tends to choose to work in more realistic fields such as information technology or finance, which offer them better opportunities to get a rewarding job with high income, ensuring a sufficient life in the future. Secondly, due to the freedom in lifestyle, most artists don’t follow rules and regulations in society, easily being involved in ethical issues like marriage scandals or even social vices of drugs or violence. Thus, despite the huge property of many artists, in many countries where ethics is seriously important, singer or musician is not considered as a “proper job”.
Several measures can be proposed to solve this problem. Government should organize more exhibits and performance or publish books and articles to introduce art fields to people, which can change views and raise awareness of them about artists. Moreover, more financial aids could be established to raise the level of living standard for artists and create jobs suitable for their abilities. Apart from supporting, government also needs to create laws and regulations to limit and eliminate the chance of having negative behaviors from artists.
In conclusion, there are 2 major reasons that bring about this issue and this can be handled by some actions from nations.
