The bar chart illustrates the trend in tourism in Harbour City in 1970, 1985 and 2000 in terms of hotel occupancy, adventure tourism and travel transportation.
Overall, the percentage of hotel occupancy in both city and coastal fluctuated while there are an noticeable increase in adventure tourism and air travel and significant decrease in rail travel over the same period of time
Started with great distance in 1970, the percentage of city hotel occupancy was more than 40%, compared to only about half of it at 20% of coastal hotel. In 1985, the rate of people choosing city hotel and coastal hotel both rose remarkably under 80% and near 90% respectively. The figures for hotel occupancy dropped at about 60% of city hotel and dramatically at around 10% of coastal hotel in 2000.
In terms of progression, the proportion of adventure tourism and air travel both saw a steady rise over the time from under 20% and 40% in 1970 to more than 40% and about 70% in 2000 respectively. By constrast, there was a considerable fall in the rates of rail travel from the highest at the beginning with nearly 60% to under 30% at the end of the period.
