The bar graph illustrates the number of time by minutes (in billions) that UK people take to telephone with three types of call (local-fixed line, national and international-fixed line and mobiles all calls) between 1995 and 2002.
Overall, people in the UK spent the longest time on telephone in 1999 and local- fixed line was the most common call throughout the period of time. Moreover, there is a downward trend in the number of minutes of local calls while there is a upward trend in the number of minutes of national and international- fixed line and mobiles.
In 1995, more than 70 billions minutes spent on local-fixed line call compared to only half of it at 38 billions minutes used to national and international calls and less than 5 billions minutes spent to telephone on mobiles. The figure of three categories continued to raise gradually until 1999 when the number of minutes on local calls peaked at 90 billions then began to fall noticeably back to the beginning number in 2002.
By contrast, in 1999, the amount of time spent on telephoning national and international-fixed line increased until it peaked at more than 60 billions minutes in 2002. In terms of significant upward trend, since 1999, the figure of mobiles calls continued to rise dramatically from roughly 10 billions minutes to about 40 billions minutes of using.Attachments:
