The bar graph illustrates the changes from 1970 to 2000 in the number of members participating in fitness centre which is categorized into two groups of gender.
It is clear that the overall gymnastics participants had an unstable trend throughout the period shown. The total quantity of male members outnumbered that of the females.
At the beginning of the period, female fitness membership was only around half of the figure for the oppsite sex, at 1000 in 1970 and 2000 in the year 1975. However, by 1985, a slight decline to roughly 1900 in the number of men going to gyms and a sudden rise to 2900 in the number of feminine group had caused the latter one to take over the former one to be leading figure of fitness participation.
Subsequently, at the start of the 21[st] century, though having experienced moderate drops, the rating of women becoming members of fitness centre was twice as much as the figure for men.
