Topic: The charts below show the levels of participation in education and science in developing and industrialized countries in 1980 and 1990

Essay:
Depicted in the given charts is the statistic regarding years of schooling, proportion of scientist and technicians together with budget for research activity in developing countries and industrialized countries from 1980 to 1990. As can be seen, developed countries had higher level of education and science development in comparison with other developing countries in this period.
According to the first bar chart, the average years of schooling for residents of developing countries were only more than 2 years in 1980 and increased slightly to more than 3 years in 1990. Meanwhile, people in developed countries attended over 8 years in schools in 1980 averagely. In 1990, this figure even rose to over 10 years.
The number of scientists and technicians per 1000 people in developed countries overweighed such figure of the developing countries. In 1990, this number of developed countries had nearly quadrupled such of developing countries with 44 and 10 respectively. In 1990, the number of scientists and technicians of industrialized countries soared to 70 per 1000 people while this number was only 20 in developing countries.
From 1980 to 1990, budget for research activity in industrialized countries surged from 150 billion dollars to approximately 350 billion dollars. On the contrary, cost for this activity in developing countries slumped into half in 1990 from 50 billion dollars in 1980.
