The charts illustrate the information about the way a particular school in the UK using their budget in seperate years, 1981, 1991 and 2001.
Overall, more than half of total expenses spent on staff’s salaries with teachers’ salaries was on the majority. The lowest figure was spending on insurance which slightly increased while the remaining categories fluctuated throughout the periods.
The percentage of spending on teachers’ salaries remained its top position in the both three years and reached its peak at 50% by the year 1991 then slightly decrease 5% in 10 years later. Spending on other workers’ salaries had accounted similar percentage of the school budget, 28% and 22%, respectively, in 1981 and 1991, before dropped considerably to 15% in 2001. In addition, spending on insurance rose gradually in 1981, 1991 and 2001, although it always remained below 10%.
Expenditure on furniture and equipment was exactly the same on sources such as books in 1981, 15%. In 1991, spending on furniture and equipment fell sharply to only 5% and then significantly increased to over 23% by the year 2001. In the opposite trend, there was a decrease in the percentage of spending on resources like books from 20% to 9% in 1991 and 2001, respectively.
