The line graph shows information on the percentage of population in Great Britain owning car from having no car to possessing three or more car between 1971 and 2007.
Overall, while the number of people having one car was relatively stable, there was a big change in the propotion of people who possessed no car and two cars.
At the first start of the period, nearly 50% of people in Great Britain had no car. This figure significantly went up by a half until 2007. By contrast, there was a rapid increase in people owning two cars from around 8% in 1971 to more than 25% in 2007.
Regarding people who owned three or more cars, a gradual rise was seen in the figure of this kind of car ownership although there were periods that the rate of people possessing at least three cars was unchanged. Interestingly, despite fluctuating for the whole period from 1971 to 2007, the number of people who had one car remained stable at nearly 45%.Attachments:
