well-known destinations in the world such as Hanoi, Beijing and São Paulo, those cities are suffering greatly from water pollution, soil contamination and a huge amount of garbage thanks to the flourishing tourism industry around the world.

However, measures must be taken by the travel agencies and the governments to mitigate the problems. First, companies should be aware of the cultural and environmental consequences of tourism and therefore have effective solutions. In other words, they can use leaflets and launch programs to inform tourists about the traditional customs and indigenous practices of the host countries, allowing the visitors to understand and pay respect to the destinations. Moreover, it is a recommendation that the national leaders enforce strict regulations on businesses and tourists. A number of countries, Singapore for instance, impose heavy taxes upon those who violate the laws, from which those nations benefited a lot.

In conclusion, only by addressing the concerns of local people will oppositional attitudes to global tourism be changed.
