In this day and age, there is no shortage of advocates claims that the image of public figures can be utilized as powerful tool by aid agency to raise people’ awareness of a specific dilemma, the other criticisms that this method solely bring counterproductive results. This essay will depict the merits and demerits of this situation and give the final thought.
To commence with, that the fame of superstars has far-reaching influences on a plethora of followers towards the campaign is transparent, chances are an increasing number of individuals pay attention to international aid associations. With the involvement of celebrities plus the proliferation of information in contemporary world, the meaningful action of influential figures will apparently make the headlines and go viral.Take Emma Waston as an illustration, not only is she a goodwill ambassador of United Nations, but she is also a supporter of gender equality, therefore, a myriad of young admirers who consider her as their role model follow her action as well as donating a handsome amount of money.
On the other hand, the drawbacks of the attachment of megastars with aid programs are unfortunately unavoidable. On the grounds that countless scandals of well-known people are highlighted on News or even tabloid, this inevitably exacerbates the aid projects and diminish the importance of the predicament. Besides, numerous famous entertainers popularize the aid associations with a view to their accentuating their personal image rather than genuinely engaging in the voluntary work, giving rise to undermining the original intention of voluntary organizations.
In abbreviated words, in my perspectives, the perks outweigh the downsides as long as the organization thoroughly check whether the famous people’ record is qualified enough to become their representative.
