Chữa bài IELTS Task 2
Studies suggested that nowadays children watch much more television than they did in the past and spend less time on active or creative things. What are the reasons? And what measures should be taken to encourage children to spend more time on active or creative things?
Over the past few decades, media industry has been promoted in leaps and bounds, facilitating our life significantly. Some adopt a view that television has been stealing children’s childhood as they rarely have time to play with their friend and family. There are lots of reasons behind this phenomenon and solutions to it will be discussed in the following essay.
Firstly, it is pivotal to recognize that more and more 24-hour TV programs are introduced. Although this kind of media can provide both entertainments and education values, abuse of TV can pose negative effects on children’s health. Some recent reports have revealed that the proportion of children obesity increased considerably, which attributed to a sedentary lifestyle. The second cause is the indifference of parents, who are always busy with their works to raise falimy. If such workaholics let children play together in the park, they have to sacrifice their work time to supervise their children carefully. Instead, they usually encourage their children sit in front of the screen for long hours, which is a safer way, but sadly make their children become couch potatoes.
To tackle this problem, schools and local authorities should launch more active campaigns for children to take part in. For instance, cleaning neighborhoods and scavenging beaches are good pastimes for children to exercise and socialize with their peers. Equally importantly, it is parents that should pay more attention to their children. Notwithstanding highly competitive society, they should arrange their work plausibly to spend more free time with their children. Undeniably, regular child-parent communication can prevent adolescents from social isolation or autism.
In conclusion, the plethora of recreations through TV and irresponsibility of parents are the main cause of this dilemma. Only by pooling efforts of schools, local governments and parents can we alleviate this knotty problem.Attachments:
