professional athletes make good role models

Some people think that professional athletes make good role models for
young people while others believe they don’t.
Discuss both these points of views and give your own opinion.

Noted athletes have a huge effect on society. However, it is believed that
professional athletes are exemplary figures for adolescent and the young
while others are in contrast. As well as offering my personal opinion, this
essay is going to discuss both views of this problem.

On the one hand, professional sportsmen and women have always been an
inspirational idols in young generation’s life. Once they see their idols
that gain a great success and shine, children will admire their idols
deeply and then they attempt to be like them in the future. Hence,
youngster will follow their idol’s advice or quotes and learn some good
character from them such as persistence and perseverance, team building and
teamwork, individual effort and some related skill. Besides, some athletes
who triumph over their difficulty to succeed can prompt the young’s
interest and solidify their enthusiasm for sport as well as other fields in
their life like Usain Bolt.

On the other hand, children can be negatively influenced by their idols who
behave badly in their daily life and also in competition. The young are
likely to mimic their idols unconsciously in various means which can
mention as their fashion style, hair style and body language . In addition,
children may imitate their bad behaviour when they compete to another such
as bad tempered, conflict and violence. For instance, Suarez bit their
opponent or some teams play trick in match sometimes. As a result, children
might apply these some time.

In conclusion, professional athletes can give both positive and negative
impacts for youngster. However, I do believe that they inspire their fans
that can help those have more motive to gain success in the future.
