Some people think that in order to prevent illness and disease, governments should make efforts in reducing environmental pollution and housing problems To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statements?
Over the past few decades, incurable disease has stolen millions of lives every year. Some adopt a view that the main culprit of this issue is the deterioration of living environment, thereby requiring governments to take proactive measures to improve the current status. This suggestion has my total support since it can eradicate environmental and housing dilemma.
Firstly, it is pivotal to recognize that industrialization and modernization have contaminated our surroundings in leaps and bounds in recent years, which had negative influences on people’s health. As a result of emissions from many factories, dwellers in some metropolises have to suffer from greenhouse effect and climate change. Moreover, domestic water has been seriously undermined by untreated wastes and refuse. Inevitably, human beings’ health gradually degrade due to the lack of fresh air and water. Therefore, authorities should pay more attention to saving our environment, which also means saving our lives.
Secondly, housing shortage is another root of illness that need our thorough consideration. Indeed, overpopulation has been a controversial problem, which make citizens’ shelters smaller and more narrow. Accompanied by high population density in big cities, more business and industrial zones are built in downtown, which aggravates housing crisis. Some recent reports have revealed that some epidemics are rampant more easily when living in substandard melting pots. However, if state officials can allocate resources and labors plausibly to prevent cramped houses, people’s health will be enhanced considerably.
In conclusion, illness and disease are attributed to the low quality of environment and houses. Authorities should make more attempts to alleviate such intractable problems for the sake of human’s well-being.
