WRITING TASK 2: As well as making money, business also have social responsibilities. Do you agree or disagree?
The idea that, besides enterprises focus on making money, property, they also need to have responsibilities to the community. In my opinion, while generating profits is the priority for each company, I agree that they should also take care of social responsibilities.
On the other hand, the improvement of businesses may have some benefits for society as a whole. Firstly, the higher they make their profits, the more taxes they pay to the government. As a result, revenue sources is increased significantly, authorities may spend more money in key fields, including schools, hospitals, which lead to improve the qualify of life of the whole society. Secondly, by earning more profits, companies have opportunities to expand their businesses. It means they need plenty of human resources as well as provide jobs for those within the community.
On the other hand, there are strong reasons why companies should accept that they have social responsibilities. The first reason is their production activities have negative effect on the environment. Without control, production processes may result in serious environmental degradation such as global warming, air pollution. It terms from factory emissions or their irresponsible disposal of industrial waste. For instance, if factories invested to install waste treatment systems instead of discharging waste into rivers, water pollution could be solved. Another reason is enterprises should help those who are less fortunate, since they have the money to do so. For example, two corporations such as Unilever and Vinamilk usually have philanthropic actions and charitable donations such as providing scholarships for poor children.
In conclusion, although I recognise that making profits is fundamental principles of business, I would argue that all businesses should aware of their responsibilities to society.[4/22/2017 11:11:13 PM] Cám ơn các bạn!
