Some people think that the government should decide the subject for students to study in university. Others believe that students should be allowed to apply for the subject they prefer. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
It is widely argued that whether subjects for students pursuing higher education ought to be chosen by theauthority or not. While this may suit many people, I would contend that students have a right to choose their own subjects based on their interests.
On the one hand, university students should be required to learn the subjects that is decided by the governments for several reasons. First of all, this may provides them with various opportunities to try some more different topics. For some undergraduate students, this may be a chance for them to detect their own passion. Furthermore, governments know what jobs are needed in the competitive job market nowadays. Consequently, all the fields including those works might be highly recommended for the students, and they are likely to find it easy to seek for future career.
On the other hand, I believe that students should be given a chance to learn their favorite subjects. Firstly, this may both force them to study independently and to be responsible for their choices . In other words, they have to find out their career passion before accumulating the knowledge they gain. Secondly, I believe that humans are capable of being the self-perfectionists. They are able to detect their problems, as well as find appropriate ways to solve those matters. For example, students who are good at memorizing the historical events and a deep understanding of politics may apply to study about the related fields so as to either improve their knowledge about these topics or please their interests.
