Young people increasingly admire entertainment and sports stars although some stars do not set a good example. Is this positive or negative development？

Over a few decades, more and more youths have been fond of celebrities involved in media and sport despite the adverse influences caused by them. This may lead to some negative consequences to the young in the future.
On the one hand, children are likely to be affected severly by their idols’ lifestyle. They would prefer to change their appearance as well as behaviour like the famous ones, even if they are wearing the sex-arousing clothes or talking about provocative subjects. They are not mature enough to decide what to follow; therefore, they may find it interesting to be transmited the bad traits.Take Justin Bieber as a prime example of this. He is famous for both his special voice and handsomeness. However, he is discovered to have used drugs, which is a dangerous agent and might destroy his fame and personality.
On the other hand, various celebrities are setting a role model for their fans, especially the young children. They consider their idols as a source of motivation and inspiration to achieve their goals in life. Furthermore, some of them are likely to realize their dreams and make efforts to overcome the challenges in the future after watching their idols performed on stage. This may have a desirable impact on the children and may help them to build characters such as hard-working, consiousness and other valuable traits. Taylot Swift examplifies this. She is one of the femal singers who obtain the largest amount of fans all over the world. However, she had to go through many difficulties to attain to stardom. As a result, her fans would learn from her to suceed in life.
In conclusion, it is certainly true that some celebrities have a detrimental impact on the young people, but this is by no means that children should be prohibited from admiring their true idols who they can benefit from.
