Increasing the price of petrol is the best way to solve growing traffic and pollution problems.
To what extent do you agree or disagree ?
What other measures do you think might be effective ?
It is believed that making the price of petrol higher can reduce problems that are related to traffic and pollution. Personally I completely disagree with this. In my opinion, there are some solutions to these problems in stead of increasing the price of petrol.
There are two main reasons in order to explain why people should not increase the price of petrol. In the first place, if the price of petrol is increased, this will likely to affect many aspects in people’s live. In details, most poor people use their vehicles as a way of earning a living. For example, taxi companies would get difficulties in their business because they are not able to pay for gas bills. Increasing the price of petrol could bring transport companies to the verge of bankruptcy. Secondly, the economy of countries that increase the price of petrol as a method to solve problems of traffic and pollution could be affected significantly. Particularly, a number of petroleum companies could have difficulties in selling their product. Consequently, the finance of these countries would be in the deep water. Therefore the government has to address these problems as soon as possible because the economy would be threaten.
There are many sollutions that could be used to address the issues of traffic as well as pollution. Firstly, nowadays, it is possible to manufacture new generations of vehicles which use less petrol and more eco-friendly. As a result, people can save a lot of money. Besides, government should pass official laws to stop people from abusing vehicles to cause pollution problems and fine companies that dump toxic into rivers or seas.
In conclusion, personally, I completely disagreed with the idea of increasing the price of petrol as a solution to traffic and pollution problems because there are many other better solutions that people can adopt to address this growing issue.
