Many traditionalist believe that physical and mental differences among sexes seperate men’s and women’s fields of occupation. Although there are certainly valid argument to this statement, I personally object to this traditional concept.
On the one hand, gender-specific personality traits and physical strength lead to some certain jobs overwhelmingly occupied by men or women. To commence with, it is often true that most of females are meticulous, skillful, sensitive and caring by nature; women, therefore, are considered exceptionally good at taking care of chores and other people. As a result, certain professions in caring services and education, which require staff these skills, are dominated by feminine gender. Meanwhile, thanks to possessing characteristics namely dominance, emotional stability and outstanding strength, males have tendency to outnumber females in physically demanding jobs such as engineering, metal workers, security and defense work.
On the other hand, by virtue of better educational system and the spread of equal right, any task can be undertaken by both sexes. First and foremost, in modern society, well-rounded education is popularized from primary school to higher study, which allows students not only to gain access to a reservoir of knowledge in various fields of life such as technology and science, humanity and cooking but also be equipped with a lot of skills, that facilitates their versatility in any kind of work. Furthermore, that human society is increasingly encourage gender equality invites chance for women involving in science-related fields which used to belong to men and offer more higher pay and status.
By way of conclusion, I once again restate my position that regardless of discrepancy in characteristics between sexes, any field of occupation can be performed well by both women and men.
