In many schools and universities, girls tend to choose arts subjects (eg. languages) and boys choose science subjects (eg. Physics). What do you think are the reasons? Do you think that this tendency should be changed?
In recent years, female students have a tendency to choose to study arts subjects such as languages, cooking,.. While male students like studying science subjects like physics, chemistry,… This essay will discuss some reasons for this trend. Moreover, this tendency should be changed.
There are some causes why girls like studying arts subjects and boys choose science subjects. Firstly, it belongs to gender-specific personalities. In fact, girls are fond of learning how to cook, embroidery,… while boys are fan of learning how make a robot, car, plane,… For example, my best friend is a female. She is good at learning languages. She can speak six different languages. Although she is not good at mathematics. Secondly, some people think that this is an traditional opinion that this cannot change. People often think that arts work such as embroidery, sewing,..are suitable for girls; science subjects are fix for boys. For example, I am a girl and I chose to study technology. At the beginning, my parents did not agree with my decision. They wanted me to choose to study English language. After all, I persuaded them so that they could agree for my favourite speciality.
I think people need to change this trend. In fact, students should be able to follow their desires to study any subjects that they want. In other words, all people have equal right to choose their subjects. People cannot rely on traditional opinions to choose subjects that they do not like.Their parents need to change thinking so that their children can fulfil their ambitions.
In conclusion, students have right to choose any subjects that they prefer to study.
