Task 2: Many people believe that international tourism is a bad thing for their country. What are the reasons? Solutions to change negative attitudes.

Nowadays, global tourism, an industry without chimney, has become a controversial issue because of its disadvantages. It is widely argued that worldwide travel may lead to a detrimental impact on host nations. From my perspective, this concern is not baseless and solutions must be applied to resolve the serious matters arisen from international travel.
There are two main reasons why local people consider international tourism as a cause of drawbacks of some aspects in their country. The first one is degradation in local environment due to the lack of respect for holiday destinations of outbound tourists. Take renowned beaches in Vietnam as examples, the beaches such as Sam Son and Thuan An, they have been contaminated heavily by polluting and littering unconsciously. When visiting beauty spots, for individual benefits, many visitors would intend to exploit illegally ecological traits and thereby ruining natural beauty of those sites. Another adverse influence might be social unrests such as sex trade and unfavorable inspiration to local young people. Indeed, they easily copy provocative behaviour and inappropriate attire. Besides, hidden threat coming from sexual demand may result in such social evils as human trafficking or sex crime.
To alleviate these negative problems, governments and international bodies are highly recommended to promulgate tougher laws against visitors breaking environmental rules. In my view, this solution should be combined with instructing foreign visitors how to keep host nation’s surrounding healthy. At the same time, tourism should also urge visitors to reverence for the indigenous culture of their hosts. Also, bodies as the World Tourism Organism must enforce pertinent regulations on the tourism industry. First, ensuring that local operators are responsible for clearing litter in the ways that do not harm the environment. Secondly, banning red-light districts for foreigners as well as strengthening propaganda and awareness to combat prostitution.
In conclusion, only when the authorities are really heedful of the concerns of local residents , may their view on international tourism be changed positively.
