The bar chart illustrate how citizen in European used transport to travel to and from work in 1960 . 1980 and 2000.
Overall, cars are gaining in popularity to European from 1960 to 2000, whereas the proportion of pedestrian and travellers who go to work by bike are decreased sharply in this period. Moreover, there was a slight fluctuation in the percentage of commuters used bus during 40- year period.
If we look at the in formation in more details, the proportion of travellers used car increase significantly from 5% in 1960 then reaching a peak of more than 35% in 2000. Regarding bus , in 1960, nearly 18% European chose bus to go to work , until 1980, the figure is more higher, at roughly 25% in 1980 . Subsequently, it fell dramatically to 15% in 2000.
The patern was reverse in pedestrian and biker . The percentage of those who traveled to work by bike and on foot was 30% and nearly 35% respectively . However, a considerable decrease was seen in the percentage of people who went by bike and on foot . With roughly 10% pedesetrian in 2000 , nearly twice as much as biker , with 5% .
