Task 2: In the modern world it is possible to shop, work and communicate with people via the internet and live without any face-to-face contact with others. Is this a positive or negative development?It is true that nowadays the modern world with technology development provides a large number of the online platform in working, shopping, communicating. And also people tend to live without any face-to-face contact with others. In my opinion, I believe there is both a positive and negative development.
It is clear that the internet has become useful in different fields. Firstly, the internet connects people from all over the world, which can contact easier with anyone anywhere. Secondly, people nowadays have more chances to find and work overseas by using various online platforms such as upwork, linkedin. Thirdly, revenue from e-commerce increased dramatically recently because of the advantages of online shopping. You can buy anything at any time just by some clicks, then it will be delivered to your place immediately.
However, the increasing number of people use the internet causing a climb of social issues. For example, in the modern world, live chat platform is a common means of communication that makes people less interact with others face-to-face. This might drive them to results of misunderstanding because sometimes they cannot express things through typing. Offline shopping is another instance, comparing with the online platform, people can buy suitable clothes at shops where they are able to try on and avoid bad materials. In addition, teamwork requires clear communication between team members, which is really hard to do it online. Sometimes people find hard to communicate without any face-to-face contact with others at the same time. Therefore, attending a meeting helps them strengthen a team relationship.
In conclusion, the internet provides both developments. Therefore, a balance between these is necessary in order to improve ways to be more effective in working, communicating, shopping.
