Working is a personal and social responsibility that occupies almost all of the time of each person. It is believed that job satisfaction is the crucial element that decides a person’s life. This essay will discuss about the factors that determine job satisfaction and how likely it is that all workers can find satisfaction in their job.
Generally; recognition and fairness in work are the two essential factors that determine one’s job satisfaction. Recognition is expressed in an employee’s income and promotion path. Whether he can receive bonus for overtime working or be paid deservedly with what he dedicates? Which position he will be if he attempts hard in working for five or ten year? These questions will always be repeated in an employee’s mind that identify whether he is satisfied with work. In addition, comparison will always exist between employees. Thus, being treated unfairly or disrespectfully will urge an employee into dissatisfaction.
Perfection does not exist in any aspect of life, including job satisfaction. In other words, it is totally unlikely that everyone will find happiness in there works. People are always demanding for the things that they cannot have. One with high salary needs the feeling of happiness in work. One with the happy work has to struggle with various kinds of bills every month. Rarely does an employee find full satisfaction in work. Satisfaction in working for every employee is even way more difficult.
To conclude, job satisfaction can be reached with proper recognition and fairness in work place. Also, it is completely unlikely that job satisfaction can happen to everyone.
