1. The graph below shows UK acid rain emissions, measured in millions of tones, from four different sectors between 1990 and 2007.

The line graph illustrates the amount of acid rain emissions measured in million tonnes of four distinctive factors including transport and communication, electricity, gas and water supply, domestic and other industries in the UK during 17 year period starting from 1990 to 2007.
Overall, the levels of acid rain emissions found in transport and communication experienced a slight increase, while downward trends seen in the rest of surveyed sectors.
As can be seen from the line graph, at the beginning point of the period, electricity, gas and water supply stood out as the leading position with around 3,3 million of tonnes, followed closely by other industries with 2,1 millions. Whereas, the amount of acid rain emissions from transport and communication and domestic marked nearly quantities with around 0,6 million tonnes.
The level of acid rain emissions coming from electricity, gas and water supply plunged to 0,5 million of tonnes in 2007. Whilst, the figure seen in other industries defeated that of electricity, gas and water supply at 1,6 millions in 1996 to position itself as the dominant wuth 1,3 millions at the end of the period. In terms of th amount of acid rain emissions measured from transport and communication, there was several slight fluctuation before increasing moderately to 0,8 millions. By contrast, the figure for domestic decreased to only 0,2 million of tonnes in 2007.
