ANSWER:
Nowadays, allowing students to evaluate or criticize their teachers in order to enhance educational quality has been receiving a great deal of public attention. Although this trend will cause some problems, the advantages will be far more significant.
On the one hand, there are some reasons why feedback from learners may contribute to an improvement in educational quality. First, thanks to learner’ response, some weak students may follow up the lecture. In fact, because the teachers may teach to fast that students are not able to understand, the comments from students which help them understand clearly. Second, by doing critism, bad behaviour of some teachers will be figured out. This means that students have the right to denounce behaviors that are harmful mind and body of students such as sexual abuse, offense of dignity, etc, which denunciation will help a safe and civilized school of education.
On the other hand, there are a number of reasons why making criticism on their teachers cause disrespect and indiscipline in the classroom. Since young students are generally immature and inexperience, they tend to lose their temper and overreact each time they are disciplined by the teachers. In fact, with lacking of knowledge and with haste in words, some students can use some negative words to teacher, which lead to impoliteness. Moreover, their peers may think of judging the teachers as a right way to behave and imitate it, which lead to result the classroom learning environment can be filled with disrespect and indiscipline.
In conclusion, giving permission for the students to comment or judge their teachers is not without disadvantages, the upsides will justify these. School should encourge students the freedom in expressing their thought and feeling in order to lead to enhanced academic achievements.
