The line graph provides information about the expenditure on books in four distinct countries over the course of 10 years starting from 1995.
Overall, it is clear that the expense on books in all four nations increased over the 10-year period. Besides, people in German spent more on books than those in the other three countries.
It can be seen in the graph that in 1995, 80$ million was spent on books in German. The spending figures for France and Italy were similar, at 55$ million and 50$ million, respectively, while money spent on books in Austria was much lower, at just 30%. Despite some fluctuaions, the figure for German continued to soaring and reached a peak of above $90 million in 2005.
Over the same period, there was an upward trend in the cost on books in France, and this figure finally reached a figure of $75 million in 2005. The figure for Italy experienced a similar trend. Starting at exactly $50 million in 1995, this figure had a slight growth, reaching a final figure of over $60 million but it was the lowest point at the end of the period. Finally, an dramatic rise can be seen from the figure for Austria from $40 million in 2001 to $72 million in 2005.

Some people think that it is more beneficial to take part in sports which are played in teams, like football. Other people think that taking part in individual sports like tennis or swimming is better. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

In some parts of the world it is increasingly popular to research the history of one’s own family. Why do people want to do this? Is it a positive or negative development?
