As well as making money, businesses also have social resposibilities. Do you agree or disagree?
The topic centering on whether enterprises should be in charge of community or not has come up as an open-ended in recent years. While i accept that the key mission of almost companies is maximising their profits, i believe that having pubic accountabilities plays an integral part in the operating process of businesses.
On the one hand, it is beneficial for society when companies generate much more profit. Firstly, if firms make more money, they have to pay more taxes. As a result, government agencies ca take advantage of these taxes to expend on social programs such as building more hospitals to meet public need, or giving schools’ scholarships for poverty-sticken students. Secondly, once the businesses are likely to generate a huge amount of finance, they have more opportunities to expand their operating areas, which leads to provide more jobs for labour market and decrease the unemployment rate.
On the other hand, as well as maximising companies’ revenue, they should have a duty for society. The first reason why businesses have to be resposible for community is that their activities have an adverse impact on environment. It is undeniable that factories emisssions or industrial waste is a trigger for harming the environment that contributes to negative climate phenomenon such as global warming. Therefore, these buninesses’ managers should have policies to control their activities to minimise polluted environment. Furthermore, besides making profit, corporation should put money back into the community through charity and financing scholarship. With these philanthropic actions, enterprises do not only bring opportunities to those who are trapped in poverty, but they also introduce and progress their brands to customers.
In conclusion, it is true that generating money is the fundamental priciple for all companies, but this is by no means the key consideration for these firms ignore their social obligation.[7/24/2017, 8:03:57 PM] Cám ơn các bạn!
