Teachers used to convey information, but now with wide resources of information, there is no role for teacher to play in morden education. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

In information-explosion’s life, people have more chances to approach different sources of information. While I accept the role of mentors cannot be necessary in modern education, I believe that in some extents, they also paly an integral part in improving students’ knowledge.
On the one hand, there are several reasons why teachers have been no longer the most important people in conveying information to students. The first reason is that the Internet gains the vast popularity. In fact, internet brings a huge amount of information of tremendous fields ranging from math, science to history or community. As a result, students are likely to search essential information if they need without the help of their teachers. Furthermore, e-learning is functional studying way for almost modern students. Instead of traditional studdying method passively, learning via internet do not only help to develop their self-study skills, but they also save their time when they are just at home and register for online courses to enrich their knoeldge.
On the other hand, in some occasions teachers also play an important role in enhancing students’ knowledge. Firstly, in some rural areas where the internet has not presented yet, teachers are criticial role in conveying useful knowledge to students. Because, they cannot search online information or study online courses, they only go to school and broaden their minds from their mentors. Secondly, attending schools and learning from teachers supplies opportunities to hace face-to-face communication. Without schooling, student can become isolated and unsociable. In fact, only teachers play a role in education to help students enhance their ability of communicating, competition and coorperation.
In conclusion, it is true that there are a huge amount of information available and accessible to us, but it by no means the key consideration to ignore the role of teachers in advanced educational system.
