The graphs below show the size of ozone hole over Antarctica an the production of three ozone-damaging gases from 1980 to 2000. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Task
The first line graph illustrates how the ozone hole size over Antarctica changed from 1980 to 2000. The second graph compares the amount of three kinds of damaging gases to ozone layer emitted during the period shown.
Overall, the size of ozone hole had been increasing rapidly. While the amount of CFC-11 decreased significantly, the other gases tended to be more than before.
As can be seen in the first line graph, over 20 years witnessed the increase of the ozone hole size from nearly 500,000 km2 to approximate 4,000,000 km2 although it fluctuated between 1990 and 1995. It is noticeable that there were two types of gases destroying ozone layer at the first time; however, 1990 saw the appearce of N2O. Unfortunately, the volume of N2O rose fastly to around 30 million tons in 2000. While the amount of CFC-11 decreased considerably from 70 million tons in 1980 to less than 10 million tons in 2000 although it remained stable over the first three years, the amount of CFC-12 increased gradually, which was nearly doubled in 2000 with around 50 millions tons.
