In some countries, young people are encouraged to work or travel for a year between finishing high school and starting university studies.

It is true that the high-school graduates in some countries are stimulated to spend their year between graduating high schools and starting degree courses in universities on working or traveling. I accept that this has both benefits and drawbacks.
On the one hand, there are variety notable advantages why the young students should have a job or get a trip. One reason is that the student would have more time to take care of themselves and enjoy their lives through interesting traveling. They could unwind easily their stress pressure after strenuous reviewing days in graduated high-school tests as well as entrance university examinations and celebrate their success. Furthermore, by working, the young people will be able to be more mature. They can live independently by earning money within their abilities. This especially may help them to obtain a lot of real experience and soft skills in their chosen jobs.
On the other hand, there are still have some difficulties for young people to work or travel after graduating high school. Firstly, finding jobs with high salaries is unrealistic to them. It is clear that, they do not have any practical work experience and specialized knowledge which relate to job requirements. They may be exploited labor or force abused to do things illegally. Secondly, to pay off for trips do not afford to everyone. They are till young and depend on their parents. They have to need a large sum of money to cover traveling, although there are some investments from governments currently, they can not turn themselves into debt in the future.
In conclusion, it seem evident that having a job or experiencing a trip for one year after high school and before university have their own unique advantages and disadvantages.
