Some parents buy their children whatever they ask for, and allow their children to do whatever they want. Is this a good way to raise children? What consequences could this style of parenting have for children as they get older?

It is true that some parents are so permissive that they tend to spoil their children. According to me, this is not a positive parenting style, and it can have a range of negative long-term consequences.
There are several reasons why over indulgence is bad habit for children.
Firstly, spoiling children makes them selfish. They only know about themselves and hardly share their ideas or things with others. They will become aggressive if they can’t get the things they want. Secondly, the children who are brought up by indulgent parents usually get various difficulties in making friends with other children. Finally, children will not obey the rule and tradition. They just do what they want, what they need because of their stubbornness and selfishness.
The children of lenient parents are likely to grow up with several negative personality traits. Spoiled children will easy to commit a crime when they get older. There are lots of rules and complex situation in workplace or in society but they are not experienced enough to have a good decision. For example, some bad persons ask them to do steal money from their parents or from the others just because they need money for online games. This leads to a criminal activity.
In conclusion, parents should help their children to develop self-control and respect for others, and I do not believe that the permissive parenting style supports this objective.
