The line graph illustrates the acid rain emissions between four sectors: Transportation and communication, domestic, electricity, gas and water and other industry from 1990 to 2007 in millions of tones. Overall, most of the acid rain emissions decreased over the documented period.
Over the period of time, acid rain caused by human decreased. In the period of 17 years, the number of acid rain emissions of transportation dropped by nearly half, being 2.1 million tones in 1990 to 1.3 million tones in 2007. Acid rain emissions caused by domestic slightly decreased from 0.6 million tone in 1990 to 0.25 million tones in 2007. Significantly, Electric, gas and water, the top causes of acid rain in 1990 at 3.3 million tones, sank by one-fourth in 2007.
However, the period between 2000 and 2005 witnessed an notable increased of emission in other industries. In 2000, the acid emissions caused by other industries was 0.75 million tones. Until 2005, the emission rose by one-third, reaching 1 million tone.
In summary, the chart demonstrates the shipping of the cause of acid rain emission from household reason to other industries.
