Sending criminals to prison is not the effective method to deal with them. Education and job training should be used instead. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
One of the highly controversial issues today relates to whether offenders should be confined in jails or should be released and reformed through education and vocational training. I tend to agree with the imprisonment of these criminals and in this essay I will support my view with examples.
It is certainly the case that jail is the appropriate punishment for most crimes. That is to say, when somebody commits an offence, he must pay for one’s sin and it might be the best way in this case is that he should be isolated from society in order to rethink about his mistakes. Furthermore, it is sufficient equality for victims and their families, especially with some felon as murder so that this method might do the victims and their families pleased.
A second major reason to keep criminals in jails is that it is difficult to be sure that education and job training will help offenders become good citizens. For example, most people understand clearly negative effects and legal consequences of drug trafficking so this criminal education is not effectively helpful for crime reintegrating back into society. In addition to this, drug crimes will have opportunities to contact with their partners, so they will continue to offend when they have been educating and training jobs in outside. Therefore, the government will easily manage criminal actions when all offenders are driven into a place.
In conclusion, I am certain that education and vocational training will have positive effects on crime and society but there is right to some extent. In my opinion, keeping crimes in jails is more effective than these training.Attachments:
