It is claimed that, recently, there has been a growing tendency for youngsters to spend much time on watching TV instead of involving in creative activities. This could be explained by several reasons, and some solutions should be adopted to combat the issue.
The development of telecast and the parental negligence are the two main contributors to children becoming couch potato. First and foremost, with the development of cutting-edge technology today, not only does cable television offer a number of entertainment channels, but also it posseses high-resolution graphics and lively sound; that draws in young generations who always seek for recreations. As a result, little kids can immerse themselves in cartoon network for hours while adolescents tend to sit in front of TV to relentlessly enjoy blockbuster movies and music shows without boredom. Furthermore, suffering from the hustle and bustle of modern life, parents have tendency to hardly have time to participate in extracurricular activities with their offsprings. Consequently, due to lacking diverse leisure activities, children seem to shape a habit of watching TV in spare time.
Parents need to implement immediate measures to reverse this situation. To commence with, it is necessary for parents to set a limit on the amount of time that children are allowed to switch on television. Only by reducing exposure to TV programe can the youth avoid being addicted to this device. To be equally important, children should be sent to extracurricular classes namely art and sport where they have a decent chance to make friend and have a lot of fun while learning valuable lessons. By virtue of that, youngsters can develop an interest in painting or play sports.
