Some people believe that people who read books can develop more imagination and language skills than those who prefer to watch TV. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
It has become far more normal for us to hear some arguments that books assist with the imagination and language improvement more than televisions. While I can see the benificial impacts of reading books, I tend to disagree with the idea that televisions is less effective in terms of educational developments.
On the one hand, it is unquestionable that books have played an imperative role in providing knowledge as well as skills for people along the human’s developing history. Firstly, it is obvious that books contain a huge amount of information ranging from culinary tips to intellectual subjects like geography or physics and when reading and absorbing all containing knowledge in written materials, people might definitely become admirable great individuals. Secondly, people are more likely to improve narrative skills naturally when they have the great contacts with words or stories and their language skills would be advanced consequently.
On the other hand, I believe that watching televisions is not only a means of entertaining but it may have instructive functions. It is true that informative and educational programmes are now exceedingly popular, paticularly towards children and parents. For instance, Playing Ground is a popular programmes in VietNam where every children can sing along a large number of songs which have the information about history, animals or even physics. Obviously, if children watch these programmes, their knowledge can be improved significantly and their oral skills can be progressed simultaneously. Most notably, seeing and listening a wide range of broadcasting information at the same time might be the best way for human to build up creativity and language abilities.
In conclusion, I think that books could be seen as a basic way of mastering language and imagination; however, television is an effective alternative in the modern world.[21:20:23, 22/9/2017] Cám ơn các bạn!
