SPEAKING TASK 1: STUDY
1/ Describe your education
I started primary school when I was 6. 5 years later, I went to secondary school at 11. Then at 15, I made it to a high school for gifted students in my hometown. In my country, highschool education lasts 3 years. At 18, I entered higher education at Pham Ngoc Thach university of Medicine. It took me 6 years to become a General Doctor. After that, I spent 3 years at University of Medicine and Pharmacy to study the programme of a resident physician.2/ What is your specialization?
I’ve been mastering Infectious Diseases, such as bacterial related diseases and viral related diseases, which are common in tropical countries like Vietnam.3/ Why did you choose to study that major?
The first reason why I chose to study that major is because I loved it the most among all the subjects I had studied in university. Secondly, studying that specilization helps me fullfill my dream of treating for the poor who acquire infectious diseases more easily than the rich.4/ Do you like your major? (Why/Why not?)
Of course I love my specilization a lot. It not only helps me keep up with knowledge about infectious diseases but also brings me confidence in treating patients.5/ What kind of school did you go to as a child?
As a child, I attended a public elementary school. It’s quite a famous school in my home town which provides both high quality education and a supportive environment, so I think I was quite lucky.6/ What was your favourite subject as a child?
When I was a little girl, I used to be passionate about mathematics. I remember I could spend hours doing Math exercises without being bored. Everytime I found the way to solve a difficult exercise, I felt happy as if I had won a gold medal.7/ Do you think your country has an effective education system?
Frankly speaking, I don’t think so. Our education system still cares too much about achievements and focuses on an exam-driven curriculum, which I find unduly stressful for both teachers and students.8/ (Possibly) Are you looking forward to working?
Absolutely! It’s great to join the workforce, especially when I can do the job I love. Not only will it pay the bills, but it’ll also give me the joy of making a contribution. It’s hard to be happy and fullfiled without working.9/What is good about where you’re studying?
In general, I’ve learned a lot from my university. The first thing I should mention is that it really helps me broaden my knowledge of diseases. Secondly, I have really become skilled in examining and treating patients thanks to a pratical programme built in my university.Attachments:
