The continued rise in the world’s population is the greatest problem faced
by humanity at the present time. What are the causes of this continued
rise? Do you agree that it is the greatest problem faced by humanity?
Recently, there has been a growth in global population that has caused
negative impacts. While there are several reasons why the world seems to be
over-polluted, I would argue that this is the most serious issue that human
race has to face with because of its harmful impacts.
On the first hand, I believe that the great population in the Earth stems
from a number of causes. Firstly, it is true that people in developing
countries tend to have many children. For example, as a typical
agricultural country which requires a large workforce for farming,
Vietnamese people believe that the more offspring they have, the more
assets they can create. Secondly, technological developments play an
integral part in improving life expectancy. Recently, health care
facilities such as hospitals and private clinics appear every where, which
provide individuals with better medicine. As a result, their level of
health of inhabitants can be increased, which help them to live longer.
On the other hand, I would argue that rising population is the greatest
problem because it leads to many negative consequences. The first problem
is that overpopulation results in the shortage of natural resources. Since
more children are given birth and the rise in life expectancy, the use of
non-renewable resources like fresh water and natural food has also grown.
Secondly, there is a lack of job opportunities due to the population
explosion. While students who follow higher education are rising, the job
vacancies remain constant, which could make a significant number of
university graduates become jobless.
In conclusion, many countries in the world are overpopulated, having
detrimental effects on the environment as well as human. I believe that
this is the most considerable problems that we have to handle properly.
