The table below gives information on consumer spending on different items in five different countries in 2002.

The table compares the proportion of consumer expenditure for different groups of products and service in five nations in the year 2002.
It is clear that food, drinks and tobacco accounted for the largest percentage of consumer spending. On the other hand, leisure and education had the lowest figure on the chart.
Out of five countries, Turkey had significantly higher proportion of spending on food, drinks and tobacco, with 32.14%. This figure was almost twice higher than that of Italy for this category. Italians spent 9% of their expenditure on clothing and footwear, while people in Ireland, Spain and Turkey consumed almost the same percentage of their consumer spending, at around 6.5%. It is evident that the proportion of consumption on leisure and education was highest in Turkey, with 4.35%, compared to 3.22% in Sweden and 3.20% in Italy.
Sweden had the lowest percentage of spending on food/drinks/tobacco and clothing/footwear, with 15.77% and 5.40% respectively, compared to other nations. Meanwhile, the lowest figure for leisure and education was in Spain, at 1.98%.Attachments:
