The chart compares the proportion of male students in two different age groups who took part in 5 individual sports in the UK in 2010.
Overall, the proportion of 6 to 11 year-old boys who participated in particular sports was always higher than that of older boys, with the notable exception of those who go swimming, which was the same. Additionally, the boys from age 6 to 11 is the highest one played soccer while the lowest number of participants in swimming is those from 12 to 16 years old.
There was a dramatically fell in a number of children who took part in football, basketball, and cricket when they get older. 87% of younger boys joined football, which was more than 10% as high as that of older boys. In basketball and cricket, we see the same decrease when 35% of younger boys played basketball and 15% of whom participated in cricket, which was more than those of older boys who took part in basketball (25%) and cricket (34%).
However, from the chart, the ratio of youngers played rugby was slightly higher than that of older boys who did the same, compared 23% to 21%. Additional, the proportion of youngers and the elder male who went swimming tied at 19 percent.Attachments:
