The diagram below shows how geothermal energy is used to produce electricity.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
Write at least 150 words.The diagram illustrates the process of converting geothermal energy into electricity.
Overall, the procedure consists of five stages in total, beginning with pouring water underground and ending with producing electricity in the generator.
The first step commences with releasing water downwards from a cold water chamber to a tube of 4.5km depth which directly connects with the injection well. There, water is immediately heated by hot rocks in the geothermal zone. In the next stage, once water is completely made hot, it is then pumped up to a condenser where water turns into steam. Subsequently, with support of steam, turbine can finally revolve and generate electricity.
